Dermot Carmody and Morgan C. Jones bring their original songs, splendid asides and off-the-cuff improvisation to Greystones for one night only. TAKE ON ME

29th November 2008
Doors 11.00PM - Late Bar til 2.30
Tickets 15 euro at the door

The Craic Was Nineties
DJ Paul Byrne once again celebrates the decade when the drugs almost worked

The inaugural '90s celebration was cut a little short, but fear not, good people, for the second coming of The Craic Was Nineties shall be groovin', raving and generally being very, very silly into the wee wee hours. Otherwise known as 2.30am.
DJ Paul Byrne will be taking all those tunes that he had to squeeze into a mere two hours last time out, and letting them breathe - so, Blur's Song 2 and Nirvana's Smells Like Teen Spirit will be battling it out with Daft Punk's Da Funk and Fatboy Slim's Praise You as the coolest song of the night. As will the likes of Britney's Baby One More Time, Underworld's Born Slippy, Snap's The Power, The Prodigy's Firestarter and, eh, Whigfield's Saturday Night. Yowsa. Or words to that effect.

The Stone Roses Experience

6th December 2008
10:00 PM
Tickets 15.50euro

The Stone Roses Experience are widely regarded as the most accurate tribute to The Stone Roses. We focus on bringing the authentic live sound of the Roses to audiences who never had the pleasure of seeing the original band, using the original instruments as closely as possible and tweaking that desired classic Roses tone. Sell out shows all over the UK and Ireland have shown the popularity of the Stone Roses music is still as fresh today as it was back in the late 80's, our job is to keep the seat warm until the day comes when Ian Brown, John Squire, Mani and Reni finally get it going again. The Roses Experience have played together at many major gigs over the years including European festivals such as Witnness/Oxegen in Ireland in 2002, 2003, 2004, and 2008, as well as Scotland's T In The Park in 2004, performing alongside some of music's finest acts like Primal Scream, The Cure, Chemical Brothers, The Strokes, Prodigy, Oasis and many more. As well as having those achievements under our belt, we have had the pleasure of playing on stage with original Roses bass player, Mani, when he once more pulled the bass over his head and gave 'She Bangs The Drums' an airing in front of 3 adoring Irish audiences, a true compliment. The Stone Roses Experience continue to take the music of the Stone Roses to every corner of the UK and Ireland, having students, the young, the old, 90's throwbacks and generally anyone who listens to them coming back for more each time. For the complete Stone Roses Experience, this is the one.

Rattle And Hum

12th December 2008
9:30 PM

Tickets 25euro (inc. bk. fee)

It's not easy gig being a tribute band, particularly when your inspiration is U2.Not only are they one of the highest profile bands on earth, but their legendary musical ability, passion and vitality are an integral part of the complete package. For a tribute band, this means you have to look right, you must do justice to some of the finest rock music ever written and you have to capture and transmit that indefinable energy that fuels U2.

Meet Rattle and Hum. Coming from Dublin themselves has maybe given them an advantage over other U2 tribute bands, but it doesn't end there. They are also impeccable and experienced musicians who possess both the physical power and the psychic energy that playing the music of U2 to a live audience demands. The four members, despite individual visual theatrics, become one powerful unit onstage, much like U2 themselves.

Having played in such prestigious venues as the Olympia Theatre and The Helix in Dublin together with The Ulster Hall and the Limelight in Belfast (to name just a selection) as well as touring the US, Caribbean Islands and Europe it is no wonder that Rattle and Hum have got imitating U2 down to a fine art.
